Optimissa is pleased to have had the opportunity to participate in the SEMINAR ON ADVANCED COLLATERAL MANAGEMENT organised by the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB) in Madrid.

The conference was aimed at showing an up-to-date and complete overview of the challenge that currently lies in the field of collateral management. Our colleague and 2Cover Product Manager, Eduardo Ramos, opened the seminar with a presentation and introduction of the basic concepts in the field of collateral management.

José Luis Martín, Head of Portfolio Reconciliation & Dispute Resolution in Banco Santander, followed with an analysis of the regulatory impact on collateral management and the future challenges. Sergio del Corral, Director of the Collateral Management Desk at Bankinter, offered a broad vision about the functions of the clearing house, its operations and how its members interact. For his part, Constantino Toribio, Structural Liquidity Director in Bankia, explained the process of collateral optimisation from registering a contract and inventories to defining financing and guarantee needs using a case study and taking into account the house requirements, other factors as well as the most used framework contracts.

Finally, the features of 2Cover, the system designed by Optimissa to manage collaterals, were explained in broad terms. The attendees actively participated during the seminar, making the session a dynamic and interactive one, which shows the interest this topic arises.
